Vikan was founded in 1898 by A P Pedersen, who was raised just a few kilometres from our present headquarters in Denmark. As part of a farming family who consumed the fruits of their own labour round the table after work, Pedersen had an instinctive awareness about the importance and value of hygiene.
Over the subsequent decades, Vikan grew, went international and moved into exciting new business areas; all along however, hygienic cleaning has always remained our core focus. Today, Vikan provides products in more than 90 countries.
Vikan supplies very special, high-quality, high efficiency, microfibre mops and cloths, plus brooms, dustpans, trolleys and more to make cleaning easier and more efficient for offices restaurants, hospitals, schools, supermarkets and other public buildings.
Vikan fulfils its environment-related obligations through full compliance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard. Yet our commitment to the environment and to other social responsibilities runs deeper than simple compliance. Denmark has long been a global leader in sustainability, and as a Danish company, we share the conviction that a greener world is a better world.

Our Katrin AfH brand was one of the first away-from-home tissue brands in Europe, having been introduced in 1974. The word “Katrin” originates from the Metsä Tissue Katrinefors mill, which was founded in 1765. The mill was named after the founder’s wife and is the origin of the brand and products that we know today.
